Some plot ideas that aren't 100% concrete for Smile Villain Smile's precursor cases. I've managed to work on a few of these stories with a rough outline and it's been fun trying to shape the different crime scenes.

Scenarios for Milton and Adley Detective (MAD) Mysteries:

  • Milton arrives in Ardordam by the West Rail when the disappearance of family heirlooms leads to a more sinister theft.
  • Lena Soslan tasks Milton with finding an impossible item before she agrees to hire him. During his search he must pursue Lena’s runaway child.
  • Milton and Adley are in Ardordam’s premiere shopping mall where the little girl witnesses a strange kidnapping that doesn’t seem plausible at first glance.
  • Milton and Adley are out driving in the countryside when the car breaks down near Somerden’s elite gated community.
  • While delivering a package to Mrs. Haney’s friend, the two find a distressed couple with a missing child prodigy. When Adley goes missing soon after, the stakes are raised to dangerous levels.
  • The community garden in Milton’s neighborhood is being visited by a strange vandalizer with an even stranger message.
  • The fledgling OPE invites Milton to join them.
  • Mrs. Haney takes Adley to see the ballet while Milton tries to wrap up a case he had told Adley was finished weeks ago.
  • A late diner stop causes Milton and Adley to look into the strange notes a waitress has been receiving.
  • Adley’s dance school is being closed down while the office above is being haunted by a threatening spirit.
  • Interlude: Milton accompanies Lena to drop off her daughter at Stanwyck Academy before his employment is terminated.
  • Milton tries to get his job back while preventing a crime from occurring in City Hall.
  • Adley investigates the mysterious circumstances of a student’s broken arm, exchanging letters with her mentor who is also pursuing a challenging case of his own.
  • The boarding house is caught in an eerie game of treasure hunt after their newest boarding resident disappears without a trace.
  • Milton and Adley visit Professor Torua while he is convalescing in Fort Tinberg. There they are locked in the rehab ward where a mysterious lurker plays tricks on them.
  • Milton and Mrs. Haney visit Stanwyck Academy to see the students’ production of The Nutcracker. But when Adley does not appear in the chorus of fae folk, they immediately become alarmed and work backstage to find the missing dancer.
  • Someone is setting the PIE factions against each other—Milton tries to get the groups to unite to catch their common enemy.
  • Lena orders Milton to look into the strange events reported to her by a local church figure.
  • Milton escorts Adley to a classmate’s birthday party in Somerden where the children become aware of the adults’ odd behavior.
  • The last MAD case. Introducing Hastings the cat and the orphan gangs. Adley centric.

Then after the MAD Mysteries is the summer of murder, theft and villainy that changes Milton and Adley forever, Smile Villain Smile. While I'm working on all of this I'm trying to fit in rough notes and sketches about the fictional setting, history and culture of this world. Takes up a lot of time and nothing seems to be even close to a 'final' stage or look but I'm really enjoying this personal project. I just wish I could share more complete works. sigh

Thanks to everyone that is still browsing through and favoriting my work.

Hello everyone! Long time no..deviating? :la:

Anyway, it's been a while. DeviantArt was my online homebase for ten years and then I wandered off somewhere with my dolls. Yes, I blame the BJDs.

But the dolls also helped! They provided some much needed inspiration.

So I'm back hoping to be active here again. Also I'm hoping to achieve some serious progress on 'Smile Villain Smile' (SVS) for the rest of this year. A two year hiatus is too long. I'm wanting to redraw those seven prologue pages of Act 0. :iconfacepalmplz: Mostly, I want to get the outline for a few mini mysteries and volume 1 down pat. My long-shot dream is try to get SVS out on the web or...*mumbles* published. :fear:

If I don't make satisfactory progress, you're all allowed to call me out on it and throw food at me.

S'all for now.

Hello, everyone!

So this will be random, I suppose. But if you can, I'd like your opinion on how to proceed as I enter a new hobby!

I think maybe most of you know what Ball-jointed Dolls (BJDs) are? If not, be sure to look them up here on deviantArt; a lot of talented artists, sculptors, designers and photographers can be found through this resin medium. :D

Anyway, I took the leap and ordered not one but TWO of these gorgeous dolls. I plan to improve my sewing skills and learn to do face ups as well as photograph them.

Bjd First2 by Anante

So my question is: Should I upload my BJD-related stuff here on this account? Or would it be preferable to upload onto a separate account?

I would appreciate any feedback or advice on this!!

 Happy 15th Birthday to DeviantART!

On with the interrogation questions!

:bulletred: 1.) How long have you been on DeviantArt? :bulletred:

11 years! I made my first account in 2003.

:bulletred: 2.)What does your username mean? :bulletred:

From what I've researched, 'anante' means infinite or endless in Sanskrit. I derived it from 'Anon T.' which is another username I go by.

:bulletred: 3.)Describe yourself in three words. :bulletred:

Daydreamer. Intense. Nonsensical.

:bulletred: 4.)Are you left or right handed? :bulletred:

Righty!!

:bulletred: 5.)What was your first deviation? :bulletred:

My first ever deviation was a marker drawing but I don't have the file for that anymore. This is my first digital submission to deviantArt:

OLD - 2004 - Pixie by Anante

:bulletred: 6.)What is your favourite type of art to create? :bulletred:

Illustrations. Usually with characters with an interesting story!

And filled with symbolism!

:bulletred: 7.)If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? :bulletred:

Architectural renderings!

:bulletred: 10.)Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist(s):bulletred:

:bulletred: 11.)If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? :bulletred:

:iconsigilogos:

We would play Grisleigh End and I would loose spectacularly. As I do with all board games.

:bulletred: 12.)How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? :bulletred:

Before I started college I wrote a journal about how nervous I was thinking no one would read it. A kind deviant happened to drop by my page and encouraged me. I deleted that journal and now I can't remember the deviant but those words and kindness will always remain with me.

:bulletred: 13.)What are your preferred tools to create art? :bulletred:

Photoshop (any version) and ink with watercolors!

Duino by Anante Milton Quick Potrait by Anante
REDRAW - Familiar... by Anante
Coronoct Bay on Founder's Eve by Anante

:bulletred: 14.)What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? :bulletred:

In a room or open field by myself with the sounds of music, nature and my imagination running wild!

:bulletred: 15.)What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? :bulletred:

Winning 3rd place in one of Harry-potter-club's contests and getting my first premium (core?) subscription. Mostly, the many wonderful fellow deviants I met who shared a passion for the same book series as I.

:la:

Phew...so there's the fifteen questions answered!
Here's to many more years of growth, changes (both good and bad) and more art on this site!
